  1. I love Dan Fogleberg. When I was newly married and living in Champaign, Illinois, Dan was a regular at the Red Lion and Panama Red's, two campus bars. There was also a local band named Apaloosa, which performed rock that was much more country than Dan's balladeer style. I can remember one time when the restive audience actually *pounded* him off the stage when he was the set before Apaloosa (pounding is pounding the bottom of your beer bottle or glass on the table, thus drowning out the singer on stage). Apaloosa is no more and never went anywhere, anyway, and Dan went on to become one of my favorite all time singer-songwriters. Just goes to show that at 21, you don't know much. RIP, Dan. You left us much too soon. *Friends we knew follow us through all of the days of our lives. Love we share waits for us there, where our wishes forever reside....*

  2. HI Dear,
Where did you go to school or live in Champaign, IL? I am from the northern suburbs of Chicago, but was transferred Jersey because of my hubbies job.
Dan was a true orignal ~

  3. I was born in Champaign, at Carle Hospital, and moved back there later, to teach and get my graduate degree. I lived on South Lynn Street and taught in Rantoul. I moved to upstate NY in 1989.
